"Behold, i lay in Zion (us!) a stumbling stone". The Spirit is a stumbling stone to the carnal mind, and God sits in the heavens and and laughs at those who constantly try to 'figure him out'. Religion operates on the Carnal Mind system, which is incompatible with the Spirit system, which is why the Darkness can never comprehend the Light. God hides in a place where no earthly map (not even the bible!!!) can find him and he is constantly taunting his earthly pursuers by laying riddles, contradictions and metaphors in His path so that these religious 'Babel-builders' can never successfully complete their task of fitting God into the tiny box of their carnal thinking. Man believes if he can understand God he can be equal to him-an ambition passed down from Adam, and Lucifer before him-but of course he never can. No, those who would know Him must first learn to speak the language of the Spirit, hidden in shadows, types & metaphors. Praise & thanks to both this articles author & Betto for sharing it. For reasons i can't explain i fought back tears in the i'net cafe reading it...that ole' feeling of "maybe i'm not alone in the universe after all." Dave M

I'm not sure if i have understood this article properly, but this article provides, to me, a hallway that leads to the all important 'faith' issue. This is where we metaphotically call things as they appear (spiritually) but in the physical realm they are considered completely different. Think healing. "In Jesus name you are healed" is prfessed in faith when clearly and physically there is a broken body. The bible is full of oxymorons that could actually be considered metaphors because you are calling things that are not as they appear. The weak shall be strong, the poor shall be rich, the last shall be first and so on and so on. Although these things that are foolishness to man and are often said as classic cliches, they do have incredible power behind them, for those that are fully established in Christ. I only wish I could unlock the full power of them all in my own life, but that's a work in progress.

This ability to call things in our life as they are not, is our canvas for creativity in our Christian lives, we can choose to be stagnant in our walk, we can even choose to serve God but out of duty not love, or finally we can, out of our close connection to the Lord become heavily involved in the lives of others for Glory of God because we know how it pleases our friend, our Saviour. For if you love him, you'll naturally keep his commandments and instead of being bound by man-made restrictions (i.e. thinking that the healing service on the second sunday night of the month is when God heals), we live daily in Christ and flow as the spirit leads us to use spiritual metaphor.. that's true creativity to me.
