From Now On I Will Go to the Gentiles Pt 1 of 2

The Current Realignment of the Church

Part 1 of 2

But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

Act 18:6

Hearing the voice of God

I Dreamed I Went to a Carnival

Friday, July 21st, 2006

by Bryan Hupperts

I dreamed I went to a carnival billed as THE GREATEST CARNIVAL SHOW
ON EARTH! As I pulled in to the lot, there were smiling greeters
with flashlights who guided me expertly as I parked.

I exited my vehicle to the sound of excitement, the glare and flash
of multi-colored lights and the screams of thrill seekers on the
various rides. The cacophony was almost overwhelming. I followed the
crowd of people who were happily murmuring about the various things
they had come for: blessings, thrills, to be fed, to be entertained.

I had just paid the full admission price when someone started
walking towards me from the shadows. While I could not quite
recognize his face, I knew he was a friend. He said, "Why are you
wasting your time and money here?"

A Warning To The Church

Part 4 of 6

This series sounds a warning to the contemporary church. It will show that spiritual Jerusalem, the church of Jesus Christ – the city of God, has been invaded by Babylon, the city of man. We will show how this conflict plays out in the contemporary scene and how Babylon will ultimately fall in this glorious climax of the ages.

"Come out from among them!" - A Clarion Call to Holiness & Intimacy

Causing confusion among commentators Paul, seemingly out of context, in his second letter to the Corinthians, issued a clarion call to holiness and intimacy with God - a call to come out of Babylon.

Confronting the Baals

For many years, myself, and many others I’m sure, have preached a revival message from this next text in first Kings:

Why Do We Expose Wounds?

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

by Mark Camino

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people? (Jer 8:22)

From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness - only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil. (Is 1:6)

Often when we share what God has revealed to us about the current reformation, transitions, simple church, old wineskin church etc., it can appear to some that we are bitter, critical or ministering out of a wounded spirit.

Many times I observe this is not the case but an opinion expressed by those who have traveled a journey and through revelation have heard the voice of the Spirit, eg:

Dear Saints,

We, the leaders of the modern phenomenon known as the church
growth movement or megachurch movement, wish to correspond
with the leaders of the past, namely the Old Testament prophets,
Jesus Christ, the apostles, the reformers and the revivalists, about
some differences between your methods and ours that are becoming
increasingly apparent. We cannot help but acknowledge that you
did a commendable job in advancing our heavenly Father's Kingdom.
We are especially inclined to admire your accomplishments given
that you labored under such difficult circumstances and without
the knowledge of our modern methods. How you built such great
and enduring walls for the King without the contemporary straw
and mortar that we find so helpful is a puzzling mystery to us.

The Wrong Mindset

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…"    Philippians 2:5

The wrong mindset or attitude in any situation, work, family or church, can be crippling and even totally destructive.

A wrong mindset can become a toxic attitude, infecting and affecting the whole church.

In Romans, chapter 12 Paul refers to the renewing of our minds as being essential to freedom from conformation to the world systems, the world's values and methods around us.

The Bible has a number of classic illustrations which reveal some of the worldly mindsets that can directly affect ministry in the Church.

Reformation to true New Testament leadership, for ongoing revival

Equippers of the saints

Every Christian who is sent, or set in place, functioning as a leader, is also qualified as an elder. It is these ones who are called and gifted to equip and mature the saints so they will do the work of the ministry. We will now take a brief look in Ephesians at their role in readying the believers:

Scenario of apostolic function

I will now put forth a picture of an apostle to give us a general idea before we ground it in the word.

Apostles are called and commissioned by God but sent from the local community of believers, usually into un-chartered waters. Sometimes this is geographically, other times it is culturally, racially or even religiously. They are often the first on the scene, either laying the foundation of Christ beneath a pre-Christian community, or re-laying it under a straying Christian one. They are both teachers of the Christ foundation and examples of it themselves.

Apostolic naming

If it is not an official position, then why would the apostles call themselves apostles?

I’m glad you asked.

For starters, you may have noticed that when I write the word apostle, except when referring to false hierarchy heads, I do not use a capital A. This is because that would make it the title of a person rather than their simple job description. To call someone Apostle Paul is to don them with a false official title, whereas to say Paul the apostle is biblically correct.

Underground examples of abandoning self

Before we delve into the largely untouched and untapped realm of true Biblical leadership, in contrast to the widely accepted and embraced traditional leadership, we must look to the foundation and heart of Christian usefulness.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20)

There’s a Sheep Born Every Second

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

picture_sheep_lg_2.jpg

by David Servant

It was reported by the Associated Press that last July, near the town of Gavas, eastern Turkey, one sheep among a large flock walked to the edge of cliff and jumped to its death. A second sheep quickly imitated the first, also leaping off the cliff to its death. Then a third sheep followed. Then a fourth. Then a fifth. The AP reported that "stunned Turkish shepherds, who had left the herd to graze while they had breakfast, watched as nearly 1,500 others followed, each leaping off the same cliff." When it was all over, 450 sheep had died and 1,050 survived, but only because those sheep that jumped later were saved as the pile of sheep got higher and the fall more cushioned. Imagine the peer pressure that last sheep must have felt. Surely 1,499 sheep can't be wrong, can they?

The Whirlwind

The Whirlwind.jpg

by Brett Jacobsen

In February 2006, while I was in a time of worship/prayer, I saw a vision of a whirlwind like a giant twister. Early in 2005 I saw a small version of this whirlwind, rushing around on the inside of me, only that one had licks of fire flicking off all sides. As I looked at this huge whirlwind the Lord reminded me of the verse in Job, “Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind” and I knew it represented the Lord and what He was doing in the earth at present. (Job 3:1)

Cathedrals and More Cathedrals

I was getting ready yesterday to go out to my Grandmother's 95th
birthday celebrations. While I was in that "autopilot" mode you get
into while showering and dressing, I found my mind wandering to
considering some of the larger organised churches around
Australia and other parts of the world and was surprised by what
the Lord showed me.

I was considering Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas when my
mind then meandered from the huge Minster (or Cathedral) in York,
England to St Andrews Cathedral in Sydney. Then my thinking
wandered to the Crystal Cathedral, then to Paradise Community
Church in Adelaide, South Australia, to Christian City Church and
Hillsong Church in Sydney .. and here is what the Lord said .
