Since when is Christianity theoogy indebt to Norm Chomsky for its ontology of the church. Here is yet another reactionary attempt by a frustrated evangelical to define the church in terms of a non-theological catch-word, in this case, "deep" as introduced by none other than Chomsky. When are Christian pundits like Frank Viola going to get it and look at the 200o years of church history, the church fathers and mothers,
God forbid, maybe even Scripture itself to graps an ontology of the church which is Christian, not "deep"
"contemporary" "traditional" "pentecostal" or even "purpose-driven." Evangelicals who are spinning off the dying treadmill of this misguided movement which has never possessed an ecclesiology, now has bubble kids like MacClaren and Viola writing about the church from scant knowledge of history, tradition or theology. When will the published pundits on ecclesiology finally get a theology of the church which is not indebted to catch-phrases, secular philosophers or market-driven capitalism?

Franky's on fire! Luvin' it!
I've started running off some copies of this article for some mates who've been stuck in Revivalist Theology land...(problem with all the "found" ones is they're so flippin' lost!)

Franky's articles are so good he should start workin' on his titles!...dunno if I'll ever tell anyone to ' Deepen their Ecclesiology ', but what a great testimony for those who get stuck seeking the 'things' of God and not the 'face' of God.

Peace n' goodwill to all men!

A good read, which I endorse thoroughly.

Get away from Theology and get into Kneeology.

i.e. get on your knees and develop a close relationship with our saviour through prayer.

Hi,

A very well presented life experience and exhortation toward Christ. I agree!!! The greatest commandment Jesus said was to love God with everything, and loving others. As soon as an individual or movement shifts it's emphasis from loving Jesus more, to any other worthy or noble biblical or gospel concept, we are in danger. All our experience is necessary but with reflection, we should take the best and reject what is unhelpful and seek Jesus more.

Not sure i like that picture though!!

Thanks,

Jeff
