The Increasing Kingdom

The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of progressive increase, beginning with Christ the seed and consummating in the matured victorious body. Isaiah spoke of Christ’s Kingdom in this manner:
For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government [misrah – empire] and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever [owlam – eternity, perpetual]. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Is 9:6-7)
Christ’s Kingdom, which is made up of all who “sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”, both on earth and in heaven, has been on a continual increase from day one (Eph 2:6). While the religion of Christianity and the church on earth have seen fluctuation over the years, Christ’s Kingdom has experienced somewhat steady growth; “the Lord knows them that are His” (2 Tim 2:19). If we are to fulfil the very real commission of our Lord to “Go […] into all the world [kosmos – the celestial realm of the world], and preach the gospel to every creature” then we must flow in faith with His prophetic plans, believing with Him for final victory (Mark 16:15).
It is unambiguous throughout the scriptures that the Kingdom of Christ is to advance its spiritual boundaries across the earth, until ultimate increase is accomplished:
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world [kosmos], was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. (Rom 4:13)
We will inherit this planet and its inhabitants into Christ’s Kingdom, first in the cosmos, then in the natural realm:
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth [ge – earth, land, world]. (Matt 5:5)
It is both beneficial and biblically sound to stand in word and in deed with God’s plans to possess the planet via Jesus’ saving grace. We ought to do this rather than expect defeat this side of the Second Advent (the final earthly coming of Christ).
