Clarification about ‘Pastoring In the New Testament’ videos

As I was preparing to upload the introduction video to the next series called ‘The Kingdom of Christ…‘ on Viddler, I noticed that the series I did a while back called ‘Pastoring In The New Testament‘ had considerably less hits than all the other vid teachings. As I prayerfully pondered this I realised that it is more than likely due to a missunderstanding from the title. This is not an exclusive teaching for some elite leaders; on the contraire.

I know that the majority of people who frequent this site are already out of institutional churches and on their way in the Kingdom of Christ. Most of you are well past the extra-biblical “Senior Pastor” error that we inherited from the Dark Ages. So, I think that some people may have seen the title and cringed, or at least just passed it by thinking it to be some leadership heavy, half-hierarchical teaching.

Truth is that nothing could be further from the truth. In a nut shell, the short vid series- Identifies and refutes the single Senior Pastor position; shows who our Pastor is (Jesus) and how pastoral ministry is shared accross the body as the Spirit moves; calls us to be pastored more by God than men; involves everyone in ministry who is saved and called by Christ; and even points parents in the right direction with spiritually raising their children.

So I encourage you to have a look at it if you haven’t. I’m sure it will clear up a lot of leadership and pastoral missconceptions for some and liberate many into real Kingdom service.

Grace and peace,

Bretto
