THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST - From Commencement to Completion (video series)- Chapter 1, Messianic Kingdom Prophecies Part 1

by Brett Jacobsen

The focus of this teaching is to promote the biblical truth that Christ’s Kingdom is active and increasing right now on this earth, in this age. Erroneous eschatology has detracted from this truth in many circles of the Christian faith.

All of the major eschatological (study of how things end) passages are covered but the end of the world is not the important issue and true eschatology is merely a means to an end- Christ Himself as King of kings. Though we will look at the glorious end of earthly history from time to time, we will more so continually use the scriptures to interpret the scriptures and arrive at the present victorious Kingdom of Christ.

For most Christians this teaching will challenge you deeply in your understanding of the New Covenant and Christ’s Kingdom as well as liberate you greatly in the truth of His Word.

Messianic Kingdom Prophecies Part 1

Below are the scriptures in this teaching so you can read along:

THE LAW

*Eve’s seed

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. (Gen 3:15)

*Abraham’s seed

And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice. (Gen 22:18)

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He says not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Christ. (Gal 3:16)

*Judah’s seed- Shiloh

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and to him shall the gathering of the people be. (Gen 49:10)

*Balaam’s star and sceptre

I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not near: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remains of the city. (Num 24:17-19)

Matt 2:1-12 - The magos saw the star and sought the king

THE WRITTINGS & THE PROPHETS

*Davidic covenant- eternal Kingdom of Messiah

Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you an house. 11 And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your sons [Jesus]; and I will establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. 13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son [Heb 1:5]: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you: 14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore. (1 Chron 17:10b-14)

*The anointed King of Zion

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed [mashiyach- King Jesus and the saints], saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak to them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you [1 Chron 17:10b-14]. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give you the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore, O you kings: be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. (Ps 2:1-12)

*Lord and governor of all nations - Ps 22:1-31

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. 27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD: and all the kindreds [mishpachah- tribe or people] of the nations shall worship [shachah- prostrate, do reverence] before you. 28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor [mashal- ruler Rev 1:5, 11:15] among the nations. (Ps 22:26-28)

*Rule till your enemies are your footstool

A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, Sit you at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool [Heb 10:12-13, 1 Cor 15:23-26]. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion: rule you in the midst of your enemies. 3 Your people shall be willing in the day of your power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: You have the dew of your youth. 4 The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at your right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge [diyn- rule, judge as umpire] among the heathen [gowy- nations], he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head. (Ps 110:1-7)

*His unending, increasing Empire

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government [misrah- empire] shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase [marbiyth- a multitude, offspring, greatness] of his government [misrah- empire] and peace there shall be no [ayin- without] end [qets- an extremity, utmost border, finite], upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom [mamlakah- dominion, estate (realm), reign], to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever [owlam- always, without end]. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Is 9:6-7)

Remember 1 Chron 17:10-14 – Davidic covenant – Eternal Son, eternal house, eternal throne, eternal kingdom.

Lovin’ the scripture passages being posted! : )

  2. Joshua Robison Says:

Brett : “For most Christians this teaching will challenge you deeply in your understanding of the New Covenant and Christ’s Kingdom as well as liberate you greatly in the truth of His Word.”

Josh: I’m interested in what the difference is between the modern evangelical Chuck Missler Eschatology and what you are saying. In what ways are say, a teacher like Chuck Missler, challenged by what you said in this video?

  3. Brett Jacobsen Says:

    Hi Joshua,

I am not aware of what Chuck teaches on this subject.

If he is like many modern pessimillenialists then I’m sure he would be greatly challenged by many main points.

If you persevere with the vids I’m sure you will see why I said that. Too many wait for some future physical Kingdom of Christ in physical Jerusalem rather than see the truth in the scriptures which has Christ’s Kingdom in full flight now. Keep watchin and I’ll be happy to discuss whatever comes up.

    Peace,

    Bretto
