THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST - From Commencement to Completion (video series)- Chapter 3, Broken Covenant and Desolation Part 1

by Brett Jacobsen

The focus of this teaching is to promote the biblical truth that Christ’s Kingdom is active and increasing right now on this earth, in this age. Erroneous eschatology has detracted from this truth in many circles of the Christian faith.

All of the major eschatological (study of how things end) passages are covered but the end of the world is not the important issue and true eschatology is merely a means to an end- Christ Himself as King of kings. Though we will look at the glorious end of earthly history from time to time, we will more so continually use the scriptures to interpret the scriptures and arrive at the present victorious Kingdom of Christ.

For most Christians this teaching will challenge you deeply in your understanding of the New Covenant and Christ’s Kingdom as well as liberate you greatly in the truth of His Word.

Israel’s Rejection of Messiah- God Breaks Covenant with Them

Below are the scriptures that are in this teaching so you can read along:

Rejected of men - Is 52:13 – 53:12

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Is 53:3)

The temple and city destroyed A.D. 70

Open your doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour your cedars. 2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen [1 Kin 5:5-6]; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O you oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. 3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory [addereth- ample, eg: a large vine, wide dress] is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

Jesus the Good Shepherd (role played by Zech)

4 This says the LORD my God; Feed the flock [John 10] of the slaughter; 5 Whose possessors slay them [Romans], and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell [makar- as merchandise] them say, Blessed be the LORD [Israel’s leaders]; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not. 6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king [“no king but Caesar” John 19:15]: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them [A.D. 70- 1,100,000 Jews killed, 97,000 enslaved]. 7 And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock [the remnant, Matt 9:35-36]. And I took to me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. 8 Three shepherds [Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes] also I cut off [Matt 21:43, 23:1-38] in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dies, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

[Matt 12:22-45 devils by Beelzebub/blaspheme Holy Spirit, or

A.D. 34 Stephens stoning and the scattering of the remnant]

10 And I took my staff, even Beauty [noam- grace], and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

12 And I said to them, If you think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver [compensation for a dead slave Ex 21:32]. 13 And the LORD said to me, Cast it to the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD. [Matt 26:14-16, 27:3-10, Jer ????]

14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands [chebel – rope, band together] that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. [66-70A.D. Zealot factions – infighting – civil strife caused Jerusalem to fall to Rome]

The foolish shepherd (Caiaphas)

15 And the LORD said to me, Take to you yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd [Caiaphas- Matt 26:1-4, 57-66, John 11:47-51]. 16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that stands still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. 17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaves the flock [John 10:12-13]! the sword shall be upon his arm [zerowa- Is 53:1, Jer 17:5-6], and upon his right eye [authority-mind, mark of the beast]: his arm [zerowa- strength] shall be clean dried [yabesh- to disappoint] up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened [Luke 11:34]. (Zech 11:1-17)

  1. Dave Says:

Funny how old Israel thought that establishing their allegiance to Rome would save them from Roman destruction. When really Rome, a nation who understood loyalty to government, and disgusted by a nation what would kill their own king, utterly turned on them and destroyed them.

Yet today, ‘new Israel’ thinks she can concrete the success of her cause through similar worldly allegiances. Embracing Mammon as her king, she demotes her ancient spiritual heritage to the place of least importance. And again, the world is disgusted at our whoredoms.

    Again, i think, He’ll destroy His sanctuary…
