THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST - From Commencement to Completion (video series)- Chapter 6, Revealing the Annointed King Part 7

by Brett Jacobsen
The focus of this teaching is to promote the biblical truth that Christ’s Kingdom is active and increasing right now on this earth, in this age. Erroneous eschatology has detracted from this truth in many circles of the Christian faith.
All of the major eschatological (study of how things end) passages are covered but the end of the world is not the important issue and true eschatology is merely a means to an end- Christ Himself as King of kings. Though we will look at the glorious end of earthly history from time to time, we will more so continually use the scriptures to interpret the scriptures and arrive at the present victorious Kingdom of Christ.
For most Christians this teaching will challenge you deeply in your understanding of the New Covenant and Christ’s Kingdom as well as liberate you greatly in the truth of His Word.
Revelation chapter 7
Below are the scriptures from this teaching so you can read along:
Pause between the sixth and seventh seal…
This chapter presents a picture of the sealed servants of God. It flows with the biblical principle of first the Jew then the Gentile. The New Covenant Jewish remnant of the time is portrayed by the 144 000. The great multitude from all nations, tribes, people, and tongues represents the rest of the New Covenant people who were also sealed from the great tribulation which was being described by seals, trumpets, and vials of wrath.
Chapter 7:1-3
1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth [1], holding the four winds [2] of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree [3].
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal [4] of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea [5],
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads [6].
[1] “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. 10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations [Jesus], and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” (Is 11:9-12)
[2] The wind is God moving either to bless, curse or both. (see Gen 8:1, Ex 14:21, Num 1:31, Ps 18:10, 104:3, 107:25, 135:7, 147:18, 148:8, John 3:8, Acts 2:2)
Egyptian famine- “the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.” (Gen 41:27)
Egyptian plagues- “And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. 14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt…” (Ex 10:13-14)
Red Sea- “The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 10 You did blow with your wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.” (Ex 15:9-10)
- In that there are four winds: “For this says the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?” (Ezek 14:21)
- Daniel 7 = God judging through tyrannical nations- “…behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.” (Dan 7:2-3)
[3] the earth = the land, the sea = a multitude, the trees = men, especially the righteous (see Jud 9:8-15, Ps 1:3, Is 61:3, Jer 17:5-8)
[4] Seal- Eph 1:13, 4:30
[5] given to hurt the earth/land of Israel and the sea/multitude of apostate Israel, not so much the trees - the individuals, though they do get hurt.
[6] God’s servants are sealed with the mark of God in their foreheads, later the apostates are sealed in the same spot with the mark of man (Rev ?).
Chapter 7:4-8
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
The corresponding passage:
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. (Rev 14:1-5)
-12 x 12 x 1000- This is the perfect remnant of Israel who are sealed. 12/Israel multiplied by 12 then times by 1000/large amount.
Twelve is the number which represents Israel (natural and spiritual).
One thousand speaks of large amounts (see Deut 1:11, Ps 50:10, 68:17, 84:10, 90:4)
1000 also was the Israelite military division (see Num 10:2-4, 2 Sam 18:1)
I say then, Has God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know you not what the scripture says of Elias? how he makes intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed your prophets, and digged down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what says the answer of God to him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. (Rom 11:1-5)
Chapter 7:9
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could [dunamai] number [1], of all nations [ethnos], and kindreds [phule- tribe] [2], and people [laos], and tongues [language], stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes [3], and palms in their hands [4];
* No one had the dunamai power to numerate the multitude because it represents all who will be saved.
[1] They are innumerable because it represents an undefined number- all the saints.
[2] The tribes (Israel’s 144k remnant) are included in the multitude before the throne.
[3] Like the crystal sea before the throne in Rev 4:6
[4] “On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” (John 12:12-13)
Chapter 7:10-12
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be to our God for ever and ever. Amen.
* The multitude of Kingdom people are centred always on God/Christ’s throne (His rule) and they worship Him accordingly.
Chapter 7:13-14
13 And one of the elders answered, saying to me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence [pothen] came they [1]?
14 And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came [erchomai- appear] out of great tribulation [2], and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb [3].
[1] The question is “whence came they” [pothen- with enclitic adv. of origin; from which (as interrog.) or what (as rel.) place, state, source or cause]. What caused these to appear erchomai?
[2] The answer: They came [erchomai] or appeared “out of great tribulation” and pothen [because of] great tribulation. Great trib- Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 21.
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come to the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. (Rom 11:11)
Eg: The first to sixth trumpets (Rev 8:7-11:14) = Great Tribulation/Israel’s fall (also, Matt 24 tribulation); The seventh trumpet (Rev 11:15-19) = The kingdoms of the world become Christ’s Kingdom- Jew/Gentile multitude (also, Matt 24:31 gather the elect).
[3] This is surely the NT saints on earth in their robes of righteousness washed in the blood of Jesus (Is 61:10, Rev 1:5).
Chapter 7:15
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple [1]: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell [skenoo- to tent/tabernacle, encamp] among [epi- over, upon] them [2].
[1] The saints are:
- “before the throne of God” (under His rule in His Kingdom) “in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:6).
- “serve him…in his temple” – We are the temple of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Cor 3:9b-17, 6:19, 2 Cor 6:16, Eph 2:19b-22, 1 Pet 2:5)
- “day and night” – they serve Him day and night because this is concerned with earth: heaven on earth.
[2] He shall tabernacle among and over them-
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matt 18:20).
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost… (Acts 2:1-4)
Chapter 7:16-17
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne [1] shall feed them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
* Kingdom Age prophetic language-
“And he said, It is a light thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth. 7 This says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose you. 8 This says the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you [2 Cor 6:2 now is the day]: and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9 That you may say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.” (Is 49:6-11)
Jesus said He was the fulfilment of this Messianic Kingdom prophecy-
I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)
He told the woman at the well-
…whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; (John 4:5-15)
[1] He is also “in the midst of the seven candlesticks [the Asian churches]” (Rev 1:13)
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Rev 5:6)
