THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST - From Commencement to Completion (video series)- Chapter 7, ‘History Past, Now and The End’ Part 3

by Brett Jacobsen

The focus of this teaching is to promote the biblical truth that Christ’s Kingdom is active and increasing right now on this earth, in this age. Erroneous eschatology has detracted from this truth in many circles of the Christian faith.

All of the major eschatological (study of how things end) passages are covered but the end of the world is not the important issue and true eschatology is merely a means to an end- Christ Himself as King of kings. Though we will look at the glorious end of earthly history from time to time, we will more so continually use the scriptures to interpret the scriptures and arrive at the present victorious Kingdom of Christ.

For most Christians this teaching will challenge you deeply in your understanding of the New Covenant and Christ’s Kingdom as well as liberate you greatly in the truth of His Word.

Faith In His Redemption

Below are the notes from this teaching so you can read along:

Redemption from the curse

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: (Gal 3:13)

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so… (Ps 107:2)

Definitive, progressive, consummative.

13 For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons [huios] of God. 15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this [ho] present [nun- now] time [kairos] are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waits [apekdechomai- expect fully, look for] for the manifestation [apokalupsis] of the sons [huios] of God. 20 For the creation was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now [nun]. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit [Rev 14:4], even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting [apekdechomai- expect fully, look for] for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved [sozo] by hope [elpis- anticipate, expectation]: but hope [elpis] that is seen is not hope [elpis]: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope [elpis] for?

25 But if we hope [elpizo] for that we see not, then do we with patience wait [apekdechomai- expect fully, look for] for it. (Rom 8:13-25)

Faith for the Kingdom

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (Heb 11:13)

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: (v39)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1)

This is a excellent article, thanks! It’s the first time I come to your website, just found it via Facebook. I’ve been going around and there’s a lot of top quality work. But I tried to add it to my Google Reader and can’t. Maybe it’s a problem of mine only… I’ll send you an email if it stays like this!
