Heaven’s Underground Blueprint

Brett Jacobsen's book Heaven's Underground Blueprint is available here. The book has a twofold thrust: it is a prophetic work that paralells church history with Old Testament Israel, presenting insight into current happenings and great hope for the future. It also is instructive in the current reformation of the church into underground community. Some of the main topics covered are: How the church spiralled down into the Dark Ages (and largely remains there), How God is changing the guard of church leadership, How to do New Testament community, What is New Testament leadership instead of hierarchical humanism, Biblical unity rather than ecumenical compromise, God's proccess of reformation, de-construction or destruction, Promised Land Christianity, Reformation of eschatology, and more.
Heaven's Underground Blueprint will be a great encouragement as well as a potent prophetic challenge to all who are pressing into God's current ongoing reformation. It operates as a magnifying glass that highlights the heavenly blueprint which runs throughout the scriptures, which comes to life by the Holy Spirit. This book will also make for a great gift to both Pastors and pew sitters who you would love to see liberated into a fuller expression of the Kingdom of Christ.
“Heavens Underground Blueprint is a revolutionary book. Its ‘take no prisoners’ approach cuts straight to the biblical bottom line through eighteen centuries of human tradition to find God’s blueprint for an ultimately victorious church. It will liberate many into God’s kingdom counter culture and His destiny for this generation. I heartily recommend it.”

Below is the Introduction chapter from Heaven's Underground Blueprint to give a general picture of what it is about:
Introduction
God is accomplishing His infinite plan for the human race through finite man. His aim is not only to bring a horde of people to heaven, but to duplicate His heavenly blueprint on earth, resulting in continual worldwide revival and kingdom harvest.
Many of God’s people around the world have felt for some time that something drastically needs to change in the body of Christ if we are going to make a significant impact in our modern culture. While some churches grow, others collapse, usually falling into the laps of the trendy new mega-focused “ministries”. Pastors and leaders are floundering, failing and falling all over the place. Division and disunity are at an all-time high. The biblically victorious ‘common Christian’ has almost become extinct and the Kingdom of God has been all but prostituted away for the empire of Christendom. We’ve tried the flashing lights, the dynamic messages of worldly success and all the latest church growth strategies, yet we’ve fallen even shorter in our goal of global transformation. It seems that we’ll try anything this ‘world’ has to offer as long as we don’t have to relinquish our extra-biblical traditions. But what if those very traditions are a major obstacle to the modern church’s eternal fruitfulness? Perhaps these compromises of the Word of God have had not a little to do with the reason we are failing miserably in our eternal commission.
Heaven’s underground blueprint reaches into the revelatory realm of the Bible. It pinpoints prophetic parallels between Old Testament Israel and the church in order to provide a prophetic context for the current ongoing reformation, as well as a faith filled illustration of God’s end time glory. This book also brings to light suppressed truths and principles from the Word for practical instruction in the outworking of the Kingdom of God on earth. While the Bible contains the clearest presentation of the Kingdom of God’s heavenly blueprint, which is to be applied with the Spirit’s leading, this book endeavours to illuminate that blueprint, giving attention to certain keys that are significant in this late hour.
It is imperative that we are about our Father’s business at this time, working with the Lord as He grows His Kingdom, not ours. We must “see […] that [we] make all things according to the pattern showed [us] in the mount”; not Mount Sinai, but celestial Mount Zion (Heb 8:5). In the same manner as Moses and the Israelites had a clear pattern with which to build their tangible tent, with no room for artistic flare, so do we, the New Covenant church, have a heavenly pattern for a heavenly tabernacle. It is this heavenly pattern that we need to build from, both in our personal lives and in our Christ-centred communities.
In order to do this we must balance the leading of the Spirit and the adherence to biblical truth. When Jesus spoke about one of the functions of the Holy Spirit He said “He [Holy Spirit] shall teach you all things” (John 14:26a). He then qualified that statement saying the Spirit would “bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you” (26b). In essence, the Spirit of God’s revelation for us is founded in what Jesus “the Word” said; not just the red letter passages, but the whole logos. Of course we get our pattern, our blueprints and our direction from the Spirit, but it is imperative we understand the foundation that the Spirit speaks from: the Word. Remember “there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (1 John 5:7).
You may notice in the pages ahead that I sometimes adopt a polemical tone. This is because, sadly, true New Testament teaching about the church and its leadership structure is not normative in our modern church culture. Many have opted for a politically correct, user-friendly version which has its anaemic justification in man’s wayward tradition. Because “the Spirit is truth” it would be contrary for me to side-step the real issues in an effort not to hurt anyone’s feelings; so I will most often speak directly (1 John 5:6). In order to receive maximum revelation from the Lord while reading this, do your best to “[Cast] down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and [bring] into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor 10:5). In other words, lay aside your preconceived ideas and expect fresh revealed truth, always checking everything with the written word and the Living Spirit.
If you wish to be used in the fulfilment of God’s clear mandate: “as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD”, this will assist your endeavours (Num 14:21). If you are a child of God who would dare to seek out and subsequently walk in God’s fullness, both for your personal life and for the cause of the kingdom, then prayerfully read on.
“In order that human nature may make one step in advance, its pioneers must take many”
D’Aubigne
